- Netflix announced a slew of new games would be coming to its platform at Geeked Week 2024.
- Among the titles are Civilization VI as well as all of its expansions and additional content.
- All games on Netflix require an active subscription to access.
The dulcet tones of Sean Bean’s voice narrating your accomplishments in Civilization VI will soon be coming from your mobile phone thanks to Netflix.
At its Geeked Week 2024 event, the streaming service announced a slew of new games coming to the platform soon. The headline for us is Civilization VI which, now that we think about it, is a fantastic edition to Netflix’s game library that can be accessed on mobile phones and on TVs in some regions.
Gamers will have access to the Platinum Edition of Civ 6 which includes all expansion packs released for the game. That amount of content usually retails for R2 507 on Steam but it will be free to Netflix subscribers. That’s a great deal.
The other newsworthy title is Street Fighter IV Collectors Edition. Again, this is a great move from Netflix and we suspect there will be a few fights to decide who gets to choose what the family watches.
“Long time Street Fighter fans can jump into the action and have an instant familiarity with the controls. For more casual players Street Fighter IV features numerous settings and tutorials that put you on the path to victory. Exclusive to the Netflix version of the game, players on iOS and Android will be able to compete against each other via cross-play,” Netflix writes in a press release.
There are also a few games based on Netflix’s IP coming to the platform as well.
In 2025, Blood Line: A Rebel Moon Game will arrive for subscribers. This online co-operative game was developed by Super Evil Megacorp. Players can choose from a number of classes and fight to get their planet back from the Motherworld.
Later this year, Squid Game: Unleashed will arrive on Netflix. Based on the iconic series, players will need to navigate a multitude of challenges based on those seen in the show. It looks a lot like Fall Guys except with humanoid characters and not beans.
The Monument Valley franchise is also returning to Netflix. Monument Valley 3 arrives with its puzzling world on 10th December. Pre-registration is now live and in the mean time you can play Monument Valley with the sequel coming on 29th October.
Sticking with puzzlers, Spongebob: Bubble Pop F.U.N is available now.
“The Flying Dutchman has blown bubbles all over Bikini Bottom, and it’s up to SpongeBob to blast them away! Revisit memorable places, faces and moments from the classic Nickelodeon cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants in this quirky, colorful bubble pop puzzle game,” writes Netflix.
Netflix now has over 100 games available to play on its mobile apps and the best part is that the only cost you’ll incur is your Netflix membership. That could change in future so take advantage of these games while you can.
